a Sunday in August - Piquette

Branding, Logo, Packaging

These three spritzy, light and low-alcohol wine drinks are the epitome of what a Sunday in August first set out to do as a wine brand: β€œto bottle that summer feeling.”

Traditionally made by French vineyard workers as a low-alcohol (and inexpensive) drink to cool themselves off with while working in the hot sun, Piquette is made from leftover grape skins and water. It's a casual, low-brow kind of drink, and this was reflected in the packaging by incorporating lots of hand-drawn elements, and some fun and wonky type lay-out on the back labels. We wanted to keep this design very minimal, casual and a little silly. The logo and illustrative components were drawn by artist Claire Milbrath
